By subscribing to or using fart.org, you agree to these terms. They exist to set reasonable expectations on both sides. Read them. Email us if anything is unclear.
1. The service
fart.org (the "Service") provides a recurring subscription to an
email forwarding address of the form <prefix>@fart.org.
Email sent to that address is forwarded to a destination address
you provide. The Service does not include a mailbox, webmail,
outbound SMTP, or storage of message contents.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. You are responsible for keeping your forwarding destination up to date and for the security of the inbox emails are forwarded to.
3. Prefixes
- Prefixes are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
- You may not claim a prefix that impersonates another person, brand, trademark, or public figure. We may refuse or revoke such prefixes at our discretion.
- If the prefix you requested is already taken, we will contact you within one business day to pick another or refund your first payment in full.
- When your subscription ends, the prefix returns to the pool after a grace period of 30 days and can be reassigned.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Send, receive, or solicit spam, phishing, or malware.
- Harass, threaten, defraud, or impersonate any person or entity.
- Violate any applicable law or third-party right.
- Abuse, overwhelm, or probe the forwarding infrastructure.
We may suspend or terminate your subscription without refund if you breach this section. We may also cooperate with law enforcement requests that meet applicable legal standards.
5. Fees, billing, and cancellation
- Subscriptions are billed in advance via Stripe, either monthly ($9.90) or annually ($99), at the price displayed at checkout.
- Prices are in USD. Taxes may be added where required.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- You may cancel at any time via the Stripe customer portal link in any billing email. Forwarding continues until the end of the paid period.
- We do not prorate refunds for partial periods. If we materially break the Service or act in bad faith, contact us and we'll make it right.
6. Service availability
We aim for high availability, but the Service is provided "as is" without a formal SLA. Email is best-effort; some upstream providers, greylisting, or receiver-side rules may delay or reject messages. We are not liable for mail lost in transit.
7. Changes
We may update the Service and these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced to active subscribers by email with at least 14 days' notice. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
8. Termination
You may cancel at any time. We may terminate or suspend the Service for breach of these terms, for legal reasons, or if operating the Service becomes unfeasible. In the latter case, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid subscription.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS OR LOST DATA.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of fart.org is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
