We run a simple service: you give us a name, we forward email sent
to [email protected] to an inbox you already own. This page
explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it. If anything
here is unclear, please email us.
Who we are
"fart.org" (the "Service") is operated by the owner of the
fart.org domain ("we", "us"). For privacy inquiries,
contact the address listed on the contact page.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Your desired email prefix (e.g.
johnthebest), collected by Stripe during checkout. - Your forwarding destination email, collected during checkout or via follow-up email.
- Billing details (name, address, card) handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Anything you send us when you email support.
Information collected automatically
- Operational email metadata: sender address, recipient (your) address, timestamp, size, and delivery outcome for each forwarded message. We do not log message bodies or subject lines.
- Website analytics: we keep this site simple. If we add analytics later, it will be privacy-preserving (e.g. Plausible, Fathom) and disclosed here.
- Security logs: IP addresses and request metadata for abuse prevention, kept for up to 30 days.
What we do not do
- We do not read, store, or archive the contents of your forwarded emails.
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We do not use your email for advertising or profiling.
Why we collect it
- To run the forwarding service and deliver email to your real inbox.
- To bill you and prevent fraud (via Stripe).
- To respond to support requests.
- To diagnose delivery issues and prevent abuse.
Where your data lives
Billing data is stored by Stripe. Email forwarding is handled via a reputable upstream provider (e.g. Cloudflare Email Routing, ImprovMX, or equivalent); we will disclose the current provider on request. Operational logs are stored on servers in the United States or European Union.
How long we keep it
- Operational email metadata: up to 30 days, then deleted.
- Security and abuse logs: up to 30 days.
- Billing records: as required by law (typically 7 years for tax purposes), via Stripe.
- Your prefix-to-destination mapping: as long as your subscription is active, plus a short grace period after cancellation.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Port your data to another service.
To exercise any of these, email us from the address associated with your subscription. We will respond within 30 days.
Cookies
This site uses no tracking cookies. Your browser may store a small
amount of data in localStorage so the prefix preview
widget remembers what you typed. You can clear it at any time from
your browser's settings.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date at the top will change. If the change is material, we will email active subscribers.
